PRM446 Analog compact and waterproof IP67 radio, incl. BP-279, BC-213, BC-123SE, MB133
A zone has been added to the IC-F29SR2, zone 2. Eight new frequencies have been released for the PMR446 control. CTCSS (lower band tone) is programmed on these additional channels. The IC-F29SR2 now has 16 channels instead of 8.
In the IC-F29SR2, Icom has now provided all frequencies with a CTCSS tone, this was not standard with the IC-F29SR. For example, frequencies 1, 2 and 3 had no CTCSS tone programmed. In order to be able to communicate between different models, a programming file is available for the previous PMR446 devices to program the missing CTCSS tones.
With the IC-F29SR2, the red button on top is programmed to easily switch between zone 1 and zone 2 with a short push.
If current users of the IC-F29SR do not change the programming, no communication will be possible on frequencies 1, 2 and 3 with the IC-F29SR2. This is possible on frequencies 4 to 16.
The CTCSS tone can be adjusted directly on the walkie-talkie, but with a programming file via the computer this is of course much easier.

Channel dial
With the 16-position dial, the working channels and group code can be programmed. The radio announces the channel number being selected as it rotates.
Paging ring (call ring)
The paging signal function can be used to page receivers with paging signal function. Ten different ring signals can be selected.
Answer back
The smart ring function checks if a receiver is within communication range and displays a beep.
Private Communication
The built-in inversion speech scrambler enables conversations with privacy. Up to sixteen codes can be selected.
21 hours runtime
The included Li-Ion battery, BP-279 has an operating time of 21 hours.
The included fast charger BC-213 charges the BP-279 in 2.5 hours.
Group Call
The user-programmable CTCSS and DTCS codes can be used for hunt group calls. You can only place a call to specific group members using the same tone and channel.
